Hello Guys,

This is kind of a Sleepless in Seattle story, and before anyone there thinks I'm nuts, let me just say, I'm a normal girl, work in retail, have a normal and sane life, but I'm also a hopeless romantic. If you can help, after reading this, please get back to me. :)

A couple of months ago, a bowhunter came into the store where I work. I could tell he was attracted to me, and it was mutual. He asked if I would come look at the elk rack he had on the back of his truck. I thought maybe he was a bit nutty, but there was something about him that I was really drawn to. I went outside and looked, and sure enough, there was a huge elk rack sitting on the back of his truck. I think his truck was white. He told me that he thought it might be a record, the size of the rack. I don't know anything about that kind of thing, but I do know it WAS huge. He said it took him four hours to clean the head alone. He mentioned possibly selling it.

While we were talking, I had the strongest urge to just reach out and hug him. I don't know why, but I think, judging by the way he was looking at me, that it might have even been okay if I had, but, I was nervous about leaving my co-worker inside alone, especially since I had just started a new job, and I thought perhaps he might think I was a bit touched if I did that...........so, I stopped myself. I am now kicking myself in the butt. It felt like there might have been something special there, and he was trying to show me that he was really interested, but I couldn't respond. I think he didn't come back because he thought I wasn't interested, and now my schedule has changed.

Now, two months later, I can't stop thinking about him, and though I may be nuts for asking, I would like to ask if there is anyone out there who might know this guy, and could possibly pass on information to him. I am not going to ask for personal information, if you do know him.

He had very long hair, blondish, almost down to his waist. He wore a red bandana. He was between 5'6" and 5'8" with a slim build. He had a light-colored truck, and as I said, a very large elk rack in the back of it. This was about the first week of September.

I truly hope you guys don't think I'm crazy. I would appreciate any help you could offer.

Good Luck Michelle :thumbsup1: Do you know if he was local or was he just passing through? You may want to tell your story to all the local hunting stores. I'm sure if he is local he has been in the stores or maybe even try the local taxidermist. If he has a large rack I'm sure he may have tried to have it measured or even had a head mount. Sounds like he would be easily recognizable to these people. Let us know how it turns out :D

Thank you. I never would have thought of the hunting stores. I'm pretty sure he's local, and not passing through. Did I mention this was in the NE Heights area of Albuquerque?

I'm wondering, guys, you need a license to hunt, right, but is that information public? When you get an animal like that, do you need to report it or register it in any way? Might I find him like that?

And, yes, there are a few of us romantics around, the few, but the proud! :)

Okay, so I called the Gaming Board, and found out that I can purchase a "Lucky List" which will list all the people that were granted hunting licenses in New Mexico for this year. I told her what I was after and she laughed so hard! She said, this list is thousands of people........it will take you forever to find him that way, if you knew his name I could help you. Well, if I knew his name, I wouldn't need her help. LOL. :) :) :)

Alright, off to try the hunting stores.
