I used to stay at a buddies camp a short distance from home but this yaer I am going to miss opening day because of some day surgery, so I guess this year on opening day and a few days after that I will be staying home. Maybe I can get some good hunting DVD's. Our season for Whitetail with gun Nova Scotia starts next Friday for 6 weeks.

Taku I pitty a person who has to wake up and goe hunting and see something like this every morning! you poor sole. I only have one queston what are you hunting and do you have room for me to be sad and see something that beutiful every morning. I do not know what you are hunting but one thing is you are not hunting for beuty because when you peak out of the walls tent you already have that and then some.

I live on a farm were we hunt here but we stay were ever we can.

... most of the time I stay at home because I hunt near home. Lodging and meals are easier that way. But I do whatever works. If I'm not near home - I like the other extreme ... load my life onto a backpack and carry it with me. But I will also say this: ... as I age a bit - the thought of having stock animals pack everything (wall tent, cook stove, real food (not freeze-dried), books, beverage, extra warm clothes, etc.) in for me is sounding better and better.

Most of my hunting is done on my own farm. I used to stay at a hunting cabin way back in the boonies with some friends, but there was an invasion of flying squirrels one summer, and they destroyed 3 of my deer heads, and two mounted fish. I ain't been back since, and have determined that it is safer, and better to drink in the comfort of my own home.
