| Here's my ultimate quail gun ... Rem 870 20 ga. with sawed off (legal) barrel, vent rib, with fiber optic red sights front and back, and sling, no plug (legal in Idaho for upland birds). Shooting 1 oz. # 8. FUN. |

| I though I had it years ago in a 20ga 870 special field, I was wrong. It was a great grouse gun tho. My quail gun now is a 16ga AyA matador sxs w/ 28"imp/mod barrels. |

| Yep. I've got a 20ga Citori but my son has latched on to it. Probally ok tho as I prefer sxs's. Have a 28ga matador that I ,foolishly, cut the shock down for my ex-wife. Notice I said "X". She took a bunch of guns when she left but not that one! Go figure. |

| I have an old Lanber 2 3/4" 12ga over/under with 26" mod and imp. Bought it some 20 yrs ago. With #8 or #6 it does a fine job on upland game. It has brought in plenty of quail and chukar. Took it out for some grouse last year but didn't see any. Can never justify getting something else. Don't fix it if it ain't broke. |

| Webley & Scott, Model 700, SxS Box lock 20 guage and because the terrain is so rugged here in AZ it has a sling. My son has his eye on it. I'm not sure he will ever pry this one from my fingers. He has already claimed my youngest pointer. |

Welcome to the site Full Draw. I'd almost be tempted to trade you my good Ithica 16ga pump for that old double barrel of your's. You'd have to talk awful fast tho.

| There was a gun company in New York that I think is now defunct called Ithica guns. Their trade mark model was the 37. My dad's quail gun was a featherweight model 37 20 ga., it is what I carried when I started quail hunting at 13. It had a short barrel, open choke and was so light that even at 13 I could carry it all day chasing bobwhites. I am a righty myself but these guns were also popular with southpaws as they are bottom eject. The pump action was the smoothest I have ever seen. |

Your right about the mod 37. I don't use mine, 16 ga, but keep thinking I should get it out and hunt some small game with it. Unbelieveablely smooth action! I haven't shot anything other than a sxs for a good 20 yrs. No fancy ones tho. Poor people got poor ways! :D |

| Just like the Rem 870, anyone who's been hunting or shooting long enough is well familiar with the Ithaca Model 37. A great many hunters took thier first pheasant, dove, quail, and duck with a model 37. Not as common today as once was, or as common as the 870 still is. |
