Holy Moses! I'm gonna need the address and landowner name of that property (just to verify the picture is legit of course)! If new I had a deer on my place like that my girlfriend may never see me again. I hope you get him.

The other deer was nice too. That would be neat to shoot a deer with your boys. Good job!

MR, how the heck have you been doing? How has your season gone down that way?

I am using the Moultrie Game Spy I40. Will admit that it won't catch a deer just walking past it. So you have to set it up facing up or down the path you suspect them to come. Or like I did, the easiest route for them to get into the feeding area was an opening in the fence for the farmer to drive through.

On the other subject, the area I believe he is bedding down is an area with those tree's that have the thorns all over them and don't grow straight up into the air. But twist and bend all over and not very tall too. So I am at a lost on how to get myself in that area and be able to draw on him without being seen from the ground. Don't have a blind right now or the monies to get one with this season. But looks like that is on the must buy list for next year for this BIG BOY.

Rookie-
Those big boys don't get that way by being easy. Just hope you can figure a way out to get him.

As for my season here, it really hasn't started yet. I was in KC during the opening week and weekend of rifle and now I am back in Dodge, but have some committments that I must honor. My sons and grandsons will be coming later in the week and I will be out with them. I have seen the buck I would like, but I have only seen him once. He, like your buck, will be a tough quarry and might end up dying of old age.

I hope I have some spare time this winter and I can catch up on getting my sons antlers on plaques and on the wall of the ranch house. Here is my backlog.

I'll leave the full head mounts to the taxidermist, but will do the plaques like this one of my mother's.

All the racks will be mounted on plaques, except the big one. The cape didn't turn out usable on him, so if the taxidermist can find a suitable cape, I will have a head mount done of him. I have a nice 5 x 5 whitetail at the taxidermist now. It has been there a year, so should be about ready.

Where is he going? If his taxidermist doesn't find a cape suitable, there is a guy who did my deer in 2004 that got a new cape for my deer. His name is Scott and he runs his business, Sure Shot Taxidermy out of his garage in Bonner Springs. He did a great job on my deer, and from the looks of everything else in there, he is great at what he does. I suggest him to anybody to is close to Bonner Springs.

I am using Colin Campbell in Salina. If he doesn't find a cape, I will talk to the Scott in Bonner Springs.

Thanks,

D,

What did charge you back then for the mount and what type of mount did you get done? Just in case I get the monster out of Miami County or the 10 pt I just got a pic of out of Atchison County.
