I'm from S.E. Kansas-Anderson county. This deer hunting has been slower than a three-legged cat going ten miles for dirt! Just ain't nothing moving. Getting nothing on my cameras either. Turning cold tonight. Down to 39. Tomorrow's high is only supposed to be 42. Maybe things will start to move then. I'll be there! :D

Hey guys sorry for the delay in the pictures. I'm gonna post a couple of different pic. The first one is of my deer and my buddy's dad's deer. His deer is on top and mine is on bottom.

Here is my deer up close. He'd be real nice if he wasn't broken off.

I see you're from Dodge. I lived north of Legends on 109 road for 4 years. Any pheasants out your way. I know its off the subject.

I have a buddy who shot at a big boy the other night. The deer was close and the angle was down. The arrow (we think) hit a rib and never made to the vitals. The arrow looked to pass in front of the ribs and low. Do you think this is a possibility? We can't figure any other way that this could have happened. After the shot the deer walked off 200 yards out of sight with the arrow flopping in him. No blood hardly at all and no deer after a two day search. We think he's still alive. What are the chances of us seeing this deer again?

Is it possible he hit the leg or shoulder? I hit a deer once a little high and he took off with the arrow in him. We trailed blood as long as we could and went back the next day to search with no luck. Come rifle season( about a month later) a buddy of mine shot that deer in the same field I shot him. The arrow had broke off and he still had 10" of shaft and broad head stuck in him. We had a very hard time figuring out how this buck survived and how the arrow missed vitals. We've had 2 other instance similar to this one, So if the buck survived it is a good chance you could see him again.

PS Great pics, both are nice deer :thumbsup1:

From what I've been seeing through the season where I've been hunting, the main rut has passed us by and the lull started about a week ago. And now they are starting to get back on their feet for a second chase. Should be good for the rifle hunters.
What's everyone else been noticing? ::-k
