I did a Water Buffalo hunt at Brady Ranch in Florida in 2005. I took a 1800 Lb water Buffalo with a single shot from my Encore in 416 Rigby with a 300 gr. Barns X Bullet.

We did a spot and stalk through the palm meadows and I took a 135 yards shot at the one I got. It was a great time, while we were stalking the heard of Buffalo, they were in the palm meadow thicket with us, we could not see them, but we could hear them, we would catch a glimpse of them off and on.

They finally made there way out into an open field and the one I was after spun around a started looking at us, the guide told me, he may charge us, I waited a few seconds and I got the opportunity to take the shot and I took it. The buffalo stood there, but you could tell he was hit good, blood was coming out of it's nostrils and blowing all over the place, I loaded another round and just held my gun on him, about 20 seconds passed and he fell over dead. :thumbsup1:

redhawk1,
That sounds like a great time! I am planning on going after a water buffalo somewhere here in the SE in the next few months. Do you have any pictures of the buffalo or of the mount you had done? They make some good looking mounts as well.
