Does anyone shoot Browning BAR Rifles at long range targets?
How about long range hunting?
What calibers and ammo are best suited for long range with a BAR? |

I think you'll get lots of recommendations for AR based rifles. |

| The BAR is not a typical action used for long range shooting, not at least if you care that you hit what your shooting at. |

Thats a ******** statement! I got a BAR 7MM and its a tackdriver! It's not made to shoot 300+ yards it's a hunting rifle! not a target rifle. I shoots very well for a auto. If you want a auto to target shoot with go with a AR10 My BAR is good up to 300 yards easy. It's a older model I got a Leupold mk3 on it. Nice rig just a little heavy. |

| I agree with ELK-AHOLIC, my BAR in 7mm with a boss muzzle break also is a tack driver (just over 1/2" MOA). |

| Sorry guys but the origional post said long range targets. That would be something well beyond 300 yds. Suddenly you develope a need for heavy bullets, which the BAR might not stabilize well. Out at 400+ yds, the world changes. If you have one that shoots well at long range targets, count yourself lucky. Give some 160gr match bullets a try and see how you do with them at 500yds. |
