| The best way to hunt them is to leave them alone until it is stormy. Use the wind and rain to your advantage. |

| I have never hunted deer out of a stand, but in this situation it should work. As for the brush, we usually wait until late buck when the leaves are down. |

| I think its supposed to be pretty nasty this weekend hopefully that helps, I usually try to find a helocopter clear cut, they are usually a ways out not many people are willing to walk in that far. |

| I think he means an area that was logged by helicopter. Usually no roads heading in or landlocked property. |

| thats correct billy, Ive always had a lot of good luck with them, and Ive never seen anyone else out on them, besides my buddies. Usually when I talk to another hunter and mention that they should give it a shot, I usually get a reply of its too long of a walk, I'll just stick to the roads. And it seems like they usually end up settling for a spike or nothing at all. Im not trying to brag but Im yet to end a season without a deer and the smallest deer ive ever got was a 3 point. So take it for what its worth and good luck |

Yea, most folks don't want to work for it. I used to work for it, but now I am getting a hitch in my giddyup so I can't go more than a couple miles from the road. I have done pretty good myself. 25 plus years straight, mostly 3 pts or better, with a couple does and spikes. This year I am archery and I didn't get out during the early season, so it will probably be a doe in the late season. |

| Well, best of luck to you. Was it a difficult going from rifle hunting to bow hunting? Ive been thinking about it for the last two seasons, mostly due to the lack of a modern season. |

The archery elk hunting was a blast and I most likely won't go back to rifle for elk. But I am having withdrawls from the deer rifle season. The more rain and wind we get the more I want to hunt blacktails with my rifle..lol |
