Sounds like they are setting the stage for another record elk harvest with 146,000 elk licenses being authorized.
Too bad the muley population isn't doing as well. I would like to see more mule deer in CO. |

| I don't know about the rest of the state but the herd in Northwest Colorado around Craig and Steamboat is doing fine. You can't go more than 1/2 a mile with out seeing a mule deer |

That's good and I'm glad to hear it. Hopefully the herd is doing well up there, certainly I would like to see more muley's.
However the state on the whole is in a slide. There was some discussion about it in the mule deer area.

| mule deer population is very good around craig area went scouting yesterday saw many good 24 " bucks and larger and alot of does |

| saw around 800 head south of south oh hayde yesterday looks like they summered there they were coming off the game reserve out there.but looked good and fat |
