Great weekend; my buddy just bought 90 ac. in Edmeston 30 min. north of Oneonta. We 've been scouting the property for a few weeks: we saw close to 15 deer between both of us Saturday mostly does 1 nice 8 pointer (out of my shooting range)and few smaller bucks........so Sunday after 2 button bucks and 6 does I decided to take a mature doe walking on her own. My buddy an older spike....it was cold 29 degrees Sunday morning.......lots of deer moving in a great piece of property surrounde by a dairy farm and corn on to sides........Can't wait to get back up there. I'll be out Wed afternoon OTIS PIKE!

I'll be hitting Otis Pike for an all day hunt, and then get out once on Sat or Sun afternoon from about 1;00 to sunset and this time I'm staying in til legal shooting light is available. If I'm lucky enough to get one I'll try to post picture, as usual my son will be out there too.

Went out Friday, looked like the perfect day. I was in an area with three trails. My son covered another good area about 200 yards away. 13 hours in the stand and not one deer passed. I don't know why. We did notice that there are no acorns this year. I have three oak trees in my back yard and no acorns on the ground.
Tomorrow I leave for a week long hunt at Allegany State Park NY. Wish me luck and I'll get back to ya in a week.
