Deer tend to move down to lower elevations if there is snow in the high country! Try the public lands around the Bayfield area for a DIY hunt!
We have our best luck on our lower ranches during 4th season! |

| thanks for the reply, thats what we will be doing. i have some good maps and have been scouting on google earth. if you know of any land owners that might allow hunting for a fee i would love to get some info on them |

I am an outfitter so all of my hunts are fully-guided all on private ranches. Here are some of the bucks that we have taken off our leases!
I believe there is quite a bit of BLM land around Bayfield that holds some decent bucks! Here is the number to the Durango Game & Fish office (970)247-0855, they should be able to give you more information on local public lands for a DIY hunt. |

we are hunting 75 &751 the third season and we are looking to hunt around saul's creek or beaver meadows area in the bayfield area. should be getting back to Ga. on 11th or 12th can let you know what we find then. i've been scouting on google earth these areas and they look good
