I thought I'd share my experience with Tom Redmond's Archery Experts.
I purchased a dozen arrows from them and was satisfied. The next dozen came without the inserts installed. I had to install them myself with the glue they supplied. Not a big deal I thought until I screwed up a few.
I emailed the company to detail my experience and to encourage them to go back to installing the inserts. No response.
So I wrote Tom Redmond and he did not respond.
I will no longer do business with them. I find it unacceptable not to respond to your customer's concerns. Just not the way to do business. |

| Did you ever get the inserts installed properly? |

On most of them I did, but the problem I was having was they supplied super glue and the glue would set up before I could get the insert all the way into the shaft.
I never did figure out a sure fire way of applying the glue and getting the insert into the shaft before it set up. |

I stay away from any of the quick set glues for inserts. I lean toward the 2 part epoxies. The slower the better. 5 min works but 1 hr is better. 24 hr is better yet. Rotate the insert as you set it. Be sure to clean the inside of the shaft. Alcohol works. Denatured, not a 40 year old scotch.
Unless your in immediate need for the arrow. It's best to stay away from any of the quick set gels or liquids for any part of the arrow assembly. A good rule of thumb is. The longer the glue takes to set. The better it will hold. Although, for feathers and vanes I find Bohnings Platinum to be very good. It works on aluminum, carbon and wood and it sets in 10 to 15 min. Again, be sure the shafts are clean. Inside and out. |

Any time.
Which arrows are you using?
I'm not saying that the quick set gels and liquids aren't good. It's just that I have better luck with the glues that take a bit longer to set. Less chance of the inserts pulling out and the fletchings coming off. Targets can be tough on arrows.
There's one range I shoot at that has cedar bales for stops. They can be treacherous on inserts and fletchings. Especially in the winter, when they are frozen or the heat of summer when arrows are burying themselves or passing through.
Always check to be sure that the inserts are in place after you pull the arrows. The tip and insert are a large amount of the weight. It won't hurt the arrow but it may (or may not) put the bow under it's weight per pound capabilities. |

I've settled with the Gold tips also. .006 and .003 straightness.
Darn good arrows.
I use the 5575 and 7595 Traditionals and the 5575 and 7595 hardwoods camos in my hybrid recuves. They get the weight up for the energy and spine up perfectly and the 5575 camo hunters in the compounds.
If you continue to loose inserts and can't find any Gold Tips. The Eastons fit very well, maybe better. When I do loose one. I usually replace it with an Easton. |

CVC, I'm not familiar with this company, however I no longer trust email. With all the spam and filtering on the various servers, there's always a chance that your email simply did not get through to them. I would pick up the phone or even fax my concerns/complaints to them.
I usually give people 24-48 hours to respond to my emails. If I do not hear back, I give them a call. |

Cowgal, you are exactly right about spam filters. So, that is why I wrote (and should have been more clear in my first post - sorry) a letter addressed to the president of the company.
I've waited for over a month to a reply to that letter. So now I've written them off as a company to do business with. |

Ouch, that's not good at all.
The internet is very powerful in distributing good and bad info about companies. This is very bad PR for them. Most companies will bend over backwards to keep a customer happy. |

You are right most companies will work hard to keep their customer base. For example, I purchased a Primos rattlin bag that came apart on me. It is a low price item, but I wrote the company and they sent me a prepaid envelope to send it back and they fixed it.
I continue to purchase Primos game calls because the product is good and they treat their customers right. |
