Here are some pics of a few Blacktail taken at my buddy's dads place the weekend before the D-7 opener in CA in Sep 05. Never did get to tag on anyof these and his dad wouldn't let us shoot on his place. The big 3x3 in the first pic was hit by a car a couple weeks later. We got the horns from it atleast. Sorry they are kina fuzzy was taken with a disposable camera. at about 40-60y.

| Its in the town of Northfork just northeast of Fresno. Thats that big boy that was hit and killed by a passing car. Was a dandy buck. The pic doesn't do him justice. For some reasion he always had deer in the corals with the mustangs and mules. |

| Ain't that the truth. Closeing day '05 we stopped by his dads house and as we made the drive out saw the biggest foky ever had to be a good 6" inch to the forks and 16"-18" tines. Was in the front yard of a neighbors place. Gut wrenching to say the least. For thise that don't know about CA. A fory or better is legal. Very liitle in the way of doe tags mostly junior hunts and special eithor sex draws. But in many areas you take the first legal buck you see as you may not get to see another. |
