Has anyone here ever put in for and hunted here in Parsons before? I am considering putting in for the archery draw, deadline is 17 Aug. According to the recording, last year there was a 190+ buck taken there. Here is the KDWP site with info:

Welcome to BGH rookie :D Nice to have more Kansans around, when I first started here there were about 2 of us
Never hunted around Parsons, but it does sound like there are quite a few deer around the old plant. Where have you done your hunting here in KS?

RR,

My first year I tried public land like hillsdale lake and some WIHA. No luck so I joined a hunting association with lots of land throughout KS, MO n Iowa. Shot a few does down by Arma back in Jan 2005. Seen lots of deer last year just south of me in Miami county, just was unable to get a good shot with the bow. How about yourself, where do you hunt at mostly?

Most of my hunting is on our family owned land and some farm leased land north of Topeka. We have about 2000 acres of crops, pasture, and timber. I might have a place near Baldwin for bow hunting this season also. Lady I do work for has 140 acres she is building a house on. ALL timber on a hill surrounded on 2 sides with corn fields. Has not been hunted for about 6 years. She's decided she needs to have her deer population lowered as much as possible, before she moves in :D So I told her I would be glad to help  It's in unit 19 so we are able to get 4 game tags and our primary.

That sounds like a great area, I have been looking for something in unit 19 myself. But no luck so far with that venture. Well, heading out to put out my new moultrie I40 cam tonight and do some extra scouting at the same time on this farm.
