A buddy of mine just told me he was having coffee this morning with a local game warder from western part of state, Chadron area. GW had just picked up a young male cougar that was hit on a roadway. I believe that is the 3rd cougar hit now on roads in less than 12 months.
Having seen two cougars in the state in wild now myself in the last 4 years, it would be nice to see a trial season for them here like in South Dakota. |

my girlfriend called me this morning because she was driving near kansas city and she swears up and down that she saw another mountain lion hit on the highway.
this would be the third one she's seen.
she stopped after work to take a picture but it was gone.
i did a lot of reading about it just a bit ago, and it seems there actually are lions coming out op south dakota, some have even made it to oklahoa. (one cat was radio tagged in SD and killed on a railroad in oklahoma!)
i hope i get to tangle with one of those 'onry critters. he may have a surprise or two coming to him. |
