We had a hen in the yard this morning with her poults.....all ten of them! I've never seen a hen with that many poults. I looked for another hen that might have been with her but she was alone. They were all about the size of a pigeon. Unless she's running some kind of turkey day care? :D I thought most of the female turkeys were "stay-at-home-hens". We'll see how many make it until this fall. The yotes and house cats will get a few, I'm sure.

She must of had a well hidden nest  She'll lay about a dozen eggs so they must have all made it through the first dangers of survival. Once they learn to fly, which will be about 10 days, their chance of survival will increase even more. Sounds like your flock is growing very well :D

Yeah, some of the little buggers were trying to take off when I saw them. Flew about five feet. I never came upon a nest with that many eggs in it. I guess it could have been raided. Most often I see them with three to five poults. They often lose a couple on their way to becoming adults.

I saw a hen yesterday with some poults, there were about 7 or 8 with her. Fun to watch, I wish I had my camera
