Better contact your local polititions on this one. Access Yes is getting ready to take a big blow on the chin.

"This morning, the House Appropriations Committee voted to transfer $1,000,000 from the Fish and Game Secondary Depredation Account to the State General Fund. The committee also voted to transfer funds from several other state agencies to the General Fund. The transfers are part of a bill that will be introduced tomorrow. (As of today, no bill number has been assigned.)

I've been emailing my reps and others need to do the same. Ya can't turn your back on these SOB's for a minute.

Does that mean the program will be killed for lack of funding?

Is the fish and game in Idaho financed by tax payers?

Just curious since it sounds like an interesting program...

Sportsmans dollars pay for just about everything here in Idaho. The legislators are ignoring Idaho Code in this attempt to take funds out of F&G.

In CO, the DOW (analogous to your G&F) gets their money from two channels.

- Tag sales.
- Donations on income tax returns.

So at least here it would seem odd if the CO senate started talking about pulling money from the DOW coffers since, as I understand, it is not public money in the same sense that tax revenue is.

Maybe the depredation money comes from taxpayers?
