Are you skinning to sell the fur or to eat the squirrel? It would be different in each case but neither one is hard to do.

I always cut around the base of the hind paws then make a slice along the back of the hind up to and around the anus down to the other leg/paw cut. I free up the skin around the tail and cut the bone at the base of the tail so the tail is attached to the pelt(if desired). The rest comes easy. All you have to do is get a good grip and pull the pelt down ove the carcass free any snags along the way until you get to the front legs. Pull the front legs through the pelt and cut around the paws to seperate. Continue to pull the pelt over the squirrels head until the ears hold you up and cut the ears free of the head and carefully pull until you get to the nose and a final cut there frees the pelt from the carcass. The pelt will be inside out at this point and can be put on a small stretcher/drier to be allowed to dry before selling. This is the way they like them done in my area but your buyers may want it differently. Time-wise it takes about five minutes up here and maybe a bit longer with your bigger squirrels down there. Clear as mud? :](*,) :thumbsup1:

I looked at our sales for last year. They were going for under $2. I can't remember how many were offered, but none were sold.
