| Yeah I have heard the livers were the best too. If you have snow spray some of the blood around the outtside of your set so they can see it from a distance. I think a $1.50 bucket of chicken livers could make a half dozen sets easy. I am going to make a couple weasel boxes this summer because I am going to trap an area next season that when I was in it 3 years ago had weasels everywhere. They are pretty cool. |

Hunter , I made 6 weasel sets yesterday while making my rounds of some coyote snares . I used deer liver .I still have a couple of pkgs left . Chicken livers would be cheap bait . The weasels averaged $8.18 and topped $14.54 Can.on the Feb sale . That was more than a muskrat . They averaged $8.02 and Topped $13. 96 .Can. .
Last year my son used a regular rat trap wired to a tree about 4 inches above the ground and had pretty good luck with that . He only had a few sets for them but caught 5 in that set .The mice wouldn'r spring the traps like they do in the boxes . Myself , I think I'll be using the boxes . But I have both . I have a bunch of rat traps that I was using for squrrels . .I plan on making about 10 or a doz boxes . I see some pics of boxes with 2 traps in them . I'm making mine with 1 trap and 1 opening . I'll cover more ground that way with a limited # of traps . If your not catching anything in one spot then just grab the box and move it to a new location . I would like the box because I can place it anywhere like under brush piles where the weasels hang out . |

That's a good price for them. I'm going to set up the boxes for my longspring traps. I have a couple of rat traps too.
I saw a guy use a #3 to cover a mink set. He left the loose jaw strait up and set the trap in front of the hole and had the pan on a air trigger. Made for a perfect body gripper. |

| I have about a doz #1 1/2 coil spring traps . When the weasel steps down from the enterance hole they should be well into the trap and be caught like a body grip trap . I have some reg rat traps and am going to make a few boxes with the rat traps inside . Hopefully that price will hold there for a few years . |

| The fisher was introduced to Nova Scotia quite a # of years ago and have done well . Their main diet is porquepine . I have taken a few with quills embedded right under the hide . One has to be careful when skinning a fisher for just that reason . All the furbearers are going to be doing well when the new trap regulations are put in place . There will be a lot of trappers give it up . This is what the anties are wating for .... regulation after regulation until all the trappers just say the hell with it . |

| Thanks Hiker , The cats averaged $150.00 on the Feb sale . They would be early cats. Our cats are a bit more prime and should average a bit more . It's great to see the prices up fairly good . Don't know how long that will last . The fur industry has it's ups and downs . |

| d3238 , We don't sell tanned pelts .We ship raw furs to the fur auction . If you catch your own you could have a taxidermist tan them for ya for a reasonable price . |
