All of my hunting has involved whitetail, turkey, local predators, and small game, so my very doable and non exotic list would be:

1. Elk
2. Mule Deer
3. Black Bear
4. Pronghorn
5. Mountain Lion
Let's throw in a hog on the way :D

Buffalo, camel and deer (I know of Rusa, Sambar, Red and Fallow - there may be others) are perhaps the most exotic species in Australia. The kangaroo hardly counts as it is so prolific across the country. A drive up the road will show 3 - 5 carcassess killed by vehicles every 5 kilometres.

Crocodile, while often poached, WILL attract a $10,000 fine if caught. Having said that, rogue crocs are often culled with police turning a blind eye. Have been know do do it myself...

Dahlo,

I'm courious. Does everyone hunt in shorts and flip-flop's where your at? Really struck me as funny seeing that. Sorta looks like you were watching TV after a long day at the office and spotted that sucker out the window!

Have a few photo's of hunting country here and flip-flop's sure wouldn't cut it.

Out my back door:

This photo is courtsy of a gentleman over on Muley Madness:

Arizona

Washington

British Columbia

More Oregon

Hope you don't think I'm picking, just funny seeing a guy in short's and flip-flop's!

Hehehe! It is kinda funny, I guess. The thing is, on that particular long-weekend we headed over to the mainland in order to fish for barramundi. We put the rifles in the boat just in case we saw something to shoot. When we spotted the mob on the plain, the skipper headed for the bank while exhorting me to jump off with my rifle. Taking him at his word I jumped off. Straight into gluey mud about three feet deep. "Damn! Boots," I remember thinking.

However, the terrain is a kind of scraggly vine along the river, giving way after about 30 metres to endless flat plains dotted with savannah woodlands (scrub). For three months of the year the plains are under one to several feet of water. Flipflops are as good as anything here, as are shorts (It's WAY too hot here to contemplate trousers). Many of my mates hunt barefoot. And let's not forget that the indiginous Anindilyakwa peoples who lived here for forty thousand years went naked - or as close to it as makes no difference.

I would absolutely love to see you standing butt naked over a Polar Bear kill!

Chilling thought!

Don..............I'd love to see me standing over a polar bear kill butt naked too!

With that being said, I doubt the adrenalin rush would keep me warm enough. For polar bear, I might need at least a loin cloth.

1. Bull elephant
2. Cape Buffalo
3. Water Buffalo
4. Grizzly
5. Greater Kudu

Would have included Black rhino, but we all know that's no longer possible. Hippo hunting out of the water almost made it. Then of course, there's lion and leapord, but I don't have as much desire there etc. Mule deer, elk, black bear are all also up there, but I actually have easier access there, so they don't make the list. Ahdad is also great fun, but I've already got my big ahdad trophy. I know I'm leaving something out of my list, but it's pretty accurate with regards to my wishes. If only I had won that power ball this week...

i think i would have to throw in a time machine so i could go to africa of 700 years ago, then a 100 pound elephant would be very likely, as would a 200 pound leopard. my poor namibian leopard only weighed in about 100 pounds. of course, i would take my modern rifle and ammo with me. what a hunt that would be.
