I was out shooting mule deer in Nov., I wasn't having much luck. I thought I would try calling some coyotes in. I sat under a tree in the shade and started calling. I called for about one minute and stopped. Right away I caught movement to my far left. As I turned my head, I could see it was a coyote running full bore right at me, startling the hell out of me. The coyote was only about 20 yards coming fast. I threw up my camera scaring the coyote at about 5 yards away, sending him into a record book u-turn. I snapped a few shoots as he ran away. This is the first: As you can see he has three feet off the ground!
Good day afield.
