I'm looking to get into outdoor videography. I'm looking to get a camera; I was looking at a canon xl2. But it’s expensive. My goal is to start a small local hunting and fishing show, so I want a camera that will be adequate. If anyone out there could recommend one, or if someone already does this, any help would be great. Thanks

Several Guys on here put together some great videos, they can probably help you out more than I, hopefully they'll see your request, but I have used a simple Sony HandyCam and used the picture package that came with it and put together a pretty good video right from my computer. I think if I concentrate on getting great clear footage I could put together a GREAT video. Wish I could figure out how to put the video on YouTube and you could check it out. It's about 30 min. long.
Hope this helps some :D

Take a look at the Sanyo VPC-CA6. It records on an SD card, is tiny enough to ut into a coat pocket and is weatherproof. Worth a look.
