| The guide recommemded .270 or bigger. I used 30-06, with a 180 gr. Barnes. |

He was only 12-points, but I guess he's good for Eastern Canada. I don't really know the size they can get to, but I'm happy with him. My first Moose. I ended up with 300-325 lbs, boned out and frozen.
We were hunting with Newfoundland Wilderness Outfitters outside of Gander, Newfoundland. Real good people. |

Alot of smaller cal. have collested moose over the years, but I suggest the 30-06 with good 180gr Nosler Part.......as a min for large moose.
I use a 300 Win Mag and 338 Win Mag with Barnes TSX handloads.
