For those that do not know what BPCR stands for its Black Powder Cartridge Rifle! Primarily a rifle model that was used by the buffalo hunters back in the 1870 era! You may have seen one in the move 'Quigley Down Under' which was an 1874 Sharps in .45/110 caliber. The cartridge is made to shoot basically all BLACKPOWDER which they do extremely well!
Here's a 15 shot group I made early one morning shooting an 1885 HiWall Browning in .45/70 caliber which is a rifle with a falling breech block such as the 1874 Sharps with the exception that it has a centerline hammer throw whereas the Sharps has a large hammer on the side. When I'm testing a load I pay mostly very strict attention to the vertical displacement rather than the horizontal spread and this group is highly indicative of what I desire to see from a load as this vertical is only 6.75". The wind was calm when I first started this string but it started picking up from left to right slightly and the group moved over toward the 3 o/clock position. Had I chosen to make a windage correction all of these shots would have been toward center but basically I just wanted to see what the vertical deviation was going to be. This group was fired from the prone position off of cross sticks from 800 yds. using aperture sights. So....here's a cartridge that's basically 130 years old performing to a pretty good degree....less than 1 MOA on vertical dispersion. Incidentally.....the target works great! All the shots show up readily visible through a spotting scope and all I have to do is spray paint it black and I'm ready to go again!

| The browning 1885 high walls shoot quite well and low walls for that matter. I've seen few that were not capable of at least m.o.a. accuracy and many that shoot better. I guess this is why the older models command such a premium.... |
