Just got in and have posted the first 9 with 8 more to come in the morning.
I had got more video on another Camera. John let me take his Sony
mini DVD. Probably that many or more on that camera.
We checked over half of the sets with almost too many weasel
More traps needed. They eat each other and messed with a
couple Martin to the point where 1 is a write off.
Mild and partly sunny. Moose and ruffed grouse on the first
group and more results later. |

9 of the 24 video clips from today (Sunday 10 Dec2006 are downloaded
to the dropshots.com/spectateswamp
9 More will be switched out in the morning.
Only 2 of the Weasels were chewed on and the rest looked
pretty good. Not all soaked like the previous catch.
Partly sunny and mild. All and all a very nice day on the
Trapline
Enjoy the videos. |

Back from Mikes
He was skinning Martin and showed me how.
(they are uploading to the net now)
Check my site for some of the other trapline posts.
That way I won't be repeating myself too much.
http://www.telusplanet.net/public/stonedan
(near the bottom of the page are the trapline links)
I'll add as many as I get replies from.
The Count from the first pull. It took 2 days to visit
all 65 traps.
42 animals total
20 Martin
20 Weasel
2 Fisher
1 Martin was chewed badly so it was a write off
2 Martin had some chewing but not nearly as bad
5 or 6 Weasel were chewed beyond salvage.
19 of the 20 Weasel were male (1 lone female)
last year the first pull produced 25 weasel with
again only 1 being female.
Most of the Martin were female.
Mike is expecting a pretty good haul tomorrow
as there were lots of tracks and those that did
the chewing are still around.
Till tomorrow.. |

I'm downloading some trapline video from a couple days ago.
Mike is going out this morning. But I have to work.
I should have gave him my camcorder.
Anyway I'll visit him tonight and take a look at the catch. |

| Thanks for the videos. I've enjoyed going along and checking your sets with you. Are you using the same set, for all three species? Does a 110 coniber hold a Fisher or do you need a 120 or 220? Would you show how you are making the set? Thanks, Jeff aka Hiker |

The video from today is downloading to my computer. There is over
17 minutes on my DVD and another 5 or so on Johns. I still havn't
got the wire I need to download from it. But there is plenty of new
stuff.
There were 7 Ruffed Grouse in a tree early in the morning.
The Fisher were early. The day was sunny and even a glimpse
of a Cow and Calf Mooose.
Another fun day on the trapline. |

Mike is trying for Martin primarily and sets where he has caught them
before or where he sees lots of tracks. The weasel are up to $14 and
easy to skin. The Fisher are a good price too. Today's video has a
good video of his Weasel trap.
I'n not sure what the trap number is but I will check with Mike.
I have video of the Lynx set comming up in the next group tomorrow. |

|
|
A few more video loaded from John's camera.
Went out to John's line and set a couple Lynx
sets along with some Wolf snares.
I downloaded the video from Johns camera
a Sony 105 HandyCam. It is ideal for going to
a TV. Creating VOB files. My Hitachi 350a does
it great for the computer. Creating MPG files.
The files from John's camera come out as 1
huge file. But I can fix that by changing the
date between each video clip.
Probably new video from Mikes TrapLine tomorrow. |

Some still pictures and more video has been posted.
We will go out again tomorrow. I'll do a little better job
with the still camera. |
