| Is a 40 cal smith and wesson strong enough to take down a mountain lion. I am looking at the Model SW40GVE Pistol. I want to use it for home protection and when I go offroading in the mountains. I guess it would be carried when hiking and fishing while in the mountains. Would this gun be a good choice to use for protection from mountain lions and black bears |

| It is big enough, cats are pretty thin skined animals. Just make sure you can hit it. |
