Finally home for a little bit and have access to high speed. Got this rug back last summer. It is a bobcat that I shot up in Northern NY a couple years back. The only reason I shot it in the first place was it was the biggest Bob I had ever seen. The tanned pelt is 3 inches shy of 4 feet nose to tail. My taxidermist could not find a full mnt form that was big enough and would have had to cut the biggest she could get in half and add 3 inches to the middle length.
So I decided rug it. |

I was back in (about 5 miles from the nearest rd) hunting bears at the time and did not feel like carrying him out. So I skun (skinned?) him in the woods with a (as I found out) rather dull knife  .
Best guess on the weight was around 45 to 50 lbs? I was watching him walk by just saying to myself "wow that is a huge cat". |
