You were talking about the Rem 710 as a possible purchase. Check out the Remington site. I have recently noticed a recall on the rifle but didn't really look at it. It might be worth a look.

Thanks. For anyone else who may be interested I included the broad strokes from the recall notice here. Basically if your rifle was manufactured between Jul-Oct last year the safety may fail. There is a function at http://www.remington.com that allows you to enter the serial number from your rifle to see if it is affected by the recall. Remington will pay all associated shipping and repair costs if necessary.
