I've never actually hunted moose but am really hoping to this season. In fact if I get home hunting that would be the game of choice...earlier season than deer so I can combine it with fishing/grouse and back in SK there's no draw.
I've also applied for the NB moose draw and will do so for NS too...heck while I'm at it I think I'll buy a 6/49 ticket - I think the odds are better - LOL. |

Hi, just been looking on the site and thought I would say hi.
I am coming to Canada in a couple of weeks time to have a look around on holidays. I have been interested in hunting there or in Alaska for years.
What do you hunt mainly.

| Personally I hunt whitetail deer and small game. I'm hoping to try moose, elk and bear someday. Where will you be in Canada? |

I own .308 BLR, and it is my "go-to" rifle, bar none. The action is smooth and fast, and the round is potent. What more can you ask for. I'm considering one in .358 Winchester for my next purchase.

We will be in Vancouver on the 28/12 and staying for about 5 days and then off to Whistler for about 6 days and then down to Calgary,Bamff and Lake Louise etc. The touristy stuff. Do you know any good hunting shops or guys worth contacting there. I am looking to make some contacts and maybe do a swap hunt sometime in the future. We mainly shoot red deer, fallow deer and wild pigs out here. We have lots of places on which to hunt but some of them are a long way out in the outback, a real adventure for somebody from over there. There are no bag limits or trophy fees where we hunt.Tempting.
Regards, |
