Well team bunny (this is what we call ourselves after this trip) set out for ptarmigan on friday morning came accross a nice place full of rabbit tracks on the way and we took 8 in an hour of hunting. moved on towards summit lake looked for ptarmigan all over the place and never saw a one and the tracks don't fill the freezer ,oddly enough. We got into a bunch more rabi on our way back home and came out with 19 total 5 spruce grouse and 1 red fox that was sitting on a caribou gut pile on paxon lake. The snow conditions are not very good and there isn't enough to cruise the hills with the sleds. And that hasn't pushed the ptarmigan down at all either.
