I'm looking at a red dot scope for my shotgun. I was originally thinking of it just for my rifled barrel for deer. But now I'm wondering if anyone uses a red dot for a shot barrel for upland and waterfowl. I can see upsides and downsides but I'd like to hear opinions from people with a little more experience.

I have a Mossburg 500 and had a 4 X Tasco mounted on it. It was a nice setup and worked well.
Nasty looking too, with a 18 1/2 inch slug barrel. Never used it for anything other han a few shots at the range, good grouping too. |
