youth hunt in NM, ELK 16E, and deer Units 10 and 17

Both of my sons had more luck this year then i have the last 10. One boy drew 16E for elk and 17 for deer, and the other drew Unit 10 for deer. I was hoping to find some good starting points. Elk hunt is Oct 10-14, deer is last part of Nov until mid Dec, spread out over three 2 day hunts. Thanks for any help.[/b]

We'll be in 16e during the archery season. I'll pass on what we learn. Hopefully that will be alot. Good luck with your boys hunts and savor every minute because those days pass to quickly.

I've spent some time in 10 over the last few years, and will be there for a good portion of September. I'll let you know if I find anything promising...if nothing else I have a couple of places that usually hold a buck or two, but it all depends on the weather and snow....
