Hey everyone,

I'm new to the site but not hunting. I started bird hunting with my dad when I was about 13 and have taken on other types of hunting over the years. During the past 15 years I have been managing a big game hunting web site that specializes in African big game. I am currently preparing to open a couple of new web sites dedicated to hunting various species and areas of the world (North America, Africa, Asia, etc.)

I have a fair amount of experience producing film and television and most people would consider me an internet guru (I have managed networks for fortune 500 companies and currently manage my own web servers, email servers, name servers, etc. and I program in asp, javascript, and Unix shell scripts). That probably doesn't mean a lot to most of you I just mention it for disclosure purposes.

I would like to discuss the production of hunting videos within the forums here but it seems that the primary moderator thinks that this is off topic. I would be interested in hearing what you think.

Are topics such as acquiring footage, techniques for filming particular species, asking for input from hunters in a particular area, or of a particular species, off topic when posted in the regular forums?

I will of course abide by the decisions of the moderators, but I would like to know what each of you, the forum users, think as well. Perhaps if enough of you think that such discussions might be valuable the moderators might soften their position and allow such discussions to take place within the existing forums, or possibly create a forum for this type of discussion.

Thanks for your input, and good hunting!

Since you asked about this on the open forum, it will be responded to here. We usually do this via PM.

#1 - Your posts were of a commercial nature, so they belonged in the classified ad section. Your posts were removed because they were ads. One was left in the "wanted" section, and that is where it belongs.

#2 - You posted 25+ posts of the same post! That is called spamming the board and it does not make moderators very happy. No one wants to see the same post over & over again, regardless of what it is. Post it in one place.

We run a tight ship here. No self promotion is allowed in the general forums. The ONLY time that may be allowed is if the post is in response to a direct question. Otherwise the posts are deleted.

Lastly, you are welcome to stay and discuss hunting. We always welcome new members. Big smile
