I knew there was a catch in this discussion somewhere. I blame Wolf. People aren't accountable for their beliefs -- it's the actions they take.

That's another gripe I have with liberals -- they have no concept of personal accountability. Their phobia of the individual prohibits them from even admitting that crime exists at an individual level. Everything is someone else's fault, and the perpetrator is blameless. This system of collective guilt to absolve individuals is why they're soft on crime.

It's also the basis of the gun control argument that assumes individuals aren't accountable for the crimes they commit -- it's the fault of gun manufacturers, cultural influences, or even society at large. Thus, rather than punish offenders, they punish society through restrictive laws aimed at the law abiding.

The choice to decide who one votes for is a right and a freedom we have in this country. No one should be bared, banned, or persecuted because of the choices they make in a candidate.

BUT, I do question how much the dad truely values his gun rights and his hunting privileges when he votes for someone like Obama. Nobama!!

I think the dad is no different than SoCo who I believe truly values his gun rights and ability to hunt. He just doesn't believe that Obama presents a danger to them.

Whether they are right or wrong, only time will tell. We can only hope they are right.

And we all know how that turned out. Look at the devistation it caused our country throughout the 1920's and early 30's. Thousands of honest businesses gone forever, never to return. Thousands of hard working decent folk out of a job. Poisonous shoddy bootleg liquid being consumed because the good stuff wan't available. Although a sensable President replealed it. Still to this day prohibition has an iron grip on certain small parts of this country, and we still feel the effects of it in one way or another, still nearly 80 years after it was repealed. No one at the time went to bat for that industry and look at what happened. Vote smart. Beware of legislation that is a wolf in sheeps clothing. Shame on You!

Gun control is best practiced through the 10 commandments of firearm safety!!! The government doesn't alway know what's best for the people.

It's a fact that the future our sport and our gun rights lies with young people and women. This attitude won't win us any converst. The guy shouldn't be allowed to instruct the public. He apparently took a lesson from a certain Denver college professor on the left.

We don't know why the dad voted for Obama, we know he was a marine, and that he's a dad.

There are many more reasons to vote or not vote for someone than a single issue. We don't know but lets assume the dad is a hunter also, we know he likes to shoot, never met a marine who didn't. Perhaps he felt Obama might be better for preserving habitat, and indeed he does seem to be that way so far.

Also Obama was against the war. Perhaps the dad has feelings one way or another in those regards. Then there is the G I bill, that didn't get passed, wasn't that a Dem thing?

Also as a dad there's health care and education and global warming to think about.

Might be a whole host of reasons.

The fact is it doesn't matter why he voted as he did. It shouldn't be held against him. Especially in a public forum such as a hunters safety class. I really feel bad for the little kid. No one should have their politics held against them that way and certainly not their children. It's no ones damn business how you vote anyhow.

"Sportsmen for Obama"... Laugh Laugh

While you're at it, how about "Chickens for Colonel Sanders," "Whalers for Greenpeace," or "Fur Trappers for PETA?"
