Gerry No, not really at $50 per point when they have 22,000 hunters with one elk point and G & F only gives out 3500 +/- NR elk tags. You might be smart to go to another western state. They are also going to hike our tag fees next year. Wyoming is all about MONEY now!
It's a shame but they know that most of us NR's will pony up the cash to hunt the cowboy state.
Have you looked at the sheep odds for Wyoming? Wow!!! IMO it is criminal to charge $100 per point...knowing full well that most applicants will never draw a sheep tag in their entire lifetime. If they would let us "Will" our points to our children.....then that's another story. Have you looked at the Moose odds? $75 per point and 10 years later after you've invested $750 for the chance to draw a Moose permit...that will more then likely cost $3,000. $3,750 for Moose tag. No thanks!!!! Alaska charges something like $450......

You're exactly right about the cost involved & honestly that's why i didn't apply last year. Let's see, when i total-up the amount of money i paid last year for PP's, something has to give. I applied for PP's in Colorado, Wy, Kansas, paid for my lease here in Indiana & hunted mule deer in Montana, it really adds up! I have to admit i was really po'd at the Wy. pp prices especially when they came out in July & said we could still apply for points. But if you want to hunt, you pay!! I haven't looked at sheep or moose PP's i can only imagine!
Heck Montana raised their outfitter sponsered tags to $845. IMO, you're better off applying for a deer/elk combination license. It's cheaper then the outfitter tag & you can still use an outfitter if you choose.
