Wyoming Muley Success

Hi Guys,  just got back from Wyoming.  Took my buck on the 5th day, the next to the last day of the season. Saw about 20 bucks in total, and this was by far the best one.  The last couple days, the bigger bucks just started to join up with the does.  Found this buck right after first light, and missed a shot at 345 yards as he was moving out.  I hiked the ridge he crossed over and found him again on the back side of the mountain and shot him in his bed at 305 yards.  Off to Colorado on Monday to catch the last 5 days of the 3rd rifle season.  Hopefully will have more pics Big smile  UH

Wow!  What a great mulie.

Wow!  What a great mulie.  Sounds like a great end to Wyoming hunting trip.  It's always fun to be seeing game and then when you see the "one" to know it and get 'em.

Thanks for the pics and I look forward to seeing more pics from your Colorado trip.  Good luck!

Well U.H., glad to see you

Well U.H., glad to see you were successful, but sorry that you had to shoot a smaller guy and not hold out for a bigger one.... Whistling

   That is one HECK of a buck!!  A huge congrats to you!  I would love to see something even half his size, let alon a bruiser of a mule deer liek that.  I can't imagine.

Very nice!  I would love to see the full story.  You have to be impressed with that guy! Congrats again!

Congratulations on the successful season !

Congratulations on the successful season Umpqua Hunter! Thanks for sharing your hunt and your photographs with us. That’s a great looking muley buck! This sounds like a long fantastic hunt with the happy ending of meat in the freezer and a trophy rack. You earned him! Any shot over three hundred yards is LONG in my book. Hunts like these are special. THESE are the good times that you will look back on. Good luck in Colorado.  I've never hunted in Wyoming - in fact I have never been there, but your pictures and hunting report make me want to go! lol

Congratulations on having a safe and successful hunt.  Your strategy of passing on the smaller ones sure paid off. Thanks for sharing the pictures. Now the question is – which taxidermy mount? Confused
