Considering the cost of an out of state hunt, it's about even for me. I can hunt Wyoming and camp for 2 weeks and it'll cost each of us around $700, or so, but we set up a huge camp etc.... We do the late season (2) doe hunt on Catalina and it's pretty great having someone else do just about everything, especially only a month after Wyoming, in which I'm the youngest guy by 20 years. I'm the designated camp wood gatherer, axe man, wood stacker, water bucket boy, deer "skinner" and "dragger" for our group.
2 nights/3 days in a house near Avalon beach, all food, cooking, cleaning and non-alcoholic beverages, snacks and fully guided with skining and quartering/cold storage. All that for a little over $1200. I really don't see how they can do it for so cheap. I'll keep going at that rate. I just have to keep working a few extra "retired annuintant" days to save for it. If anyone has kids, new hunters or elderly folks, this is a great place to hunt.
