CVC - Do you go on a guided hunt, public land, or do you have a connection out there?

Unguided on BLM land. I went with two other guys last year. One guy had been there before and the other two had not hunted antelope before.
I paired up with one of the guys that hadn't been before and we just sort of figured it out. I had watched alot of antelope hunts on tv so I had an idea of what to do.
It was a blast and I hope I draw again. My goat isn't a "book" goat, but it sure was satisfying to hunt on public land without a guide, spot, stalk and take an antelope. Truly one of the best hunts of my life.
First of all, if you haven't gone winter backpacking, it needs to happen in the near future. It puts a very unique twist on the summer version of the activity. Yes, it's cold but it's nothing that being prepared can't remedy. Beyond it's therapeutic and recreational value, I think it is a very good tool for the big game hunter as well.
