Off to Wyoming

Well in 2 more hours we will be hiting the road to hunt antelope in Wyoming for the next few days.

First hunt of the season instead of just watching and waiting. Should be a good one as we have 1 buck and 2 doe tags each for a total of 9.

I'll be posting up on how we do when I can. Hotel camping so shouldn't be a problem.

Well good luck up there.  I am assuming you are bow hunting.  Hopefully them bucks are rutting pretty good and pushing the does around.  Are you hunting water or sport and stalk...ot both.  Anyways have a good time and good luck!

Actually these are rifle tags

Actually these are rifle tags as Wyoming gets things started a bit earlier than we do. Last year same unit with only doe tags the bucks were in the rut hard and not paying attention to anything but the does. Problem is the does are spookier than the bucks and disappear quick.

But I do have the advantage of a rifle. I give you guys credit for chasing them with a bow cuz I know it's a far harder game than what I'm doing.

A couple of my friends from

A couple of my friends from Utah were up there the first of the month and came home with one just over 80 inches and the other one was just over 84.  The nice thing that they said was that they were done by noon on the day that they started to hunt, and that they saw quiet a few others that were in the same range.

Good luck on your hunt.

Things went pretty well

Things went pretty well today. We did far better that I expected and managed to fill 7 of our 9 tags. I got the best buck I've taken so far and my son did as well. My dad's wasn't as large but he killed it with a very old .32 special lever gun.

I have no idea how antelope score so I'm not going to even try a guess.

We took 4 does as well with some great shots. This trip has been a great one so far.

Thanks for all the good lucks before we took off.

Wow, sorry to see you ONLY

Wow, sorry to see you ONLY got 7 animals.  Must have been a bad day...... lol

Man, that's just awesome!  Congrats on a heck of a day antelope hunting.  Nice photos, looks like a couple of nice ones!

I like the fact that your Dad killed his with an older gun.  My Dad acquired his father's gun, a .348 Winchester, prior to last fall's hunting seasons.  This year will be my first trip back since, and I am debating on using it, at least for a day, to say I harvested something with it.

Get those other 2 tags filled!

Congrats!  Seven animals down

Congrats!  Seven animals down in one day sounds like a lot of work to me.  Those are all nice looking goats, and I would be excited to have an opportunity on any of them!  Yours looks really tall with some nice cutters while I don't know what else to say about your son's other than it is nice.  It is cool that your dad was able to use an old lever-action gun.  I have never even seen a rifle in .32 before.

Thanks for sharing the pictures, and good luck with your remaining two tags!
