Want to hunt this upcoming season for Antelope in Wyo. For you boys in the know, is 47 a better then average area for good bucks? I have 6 points and I know it doen't take that many, but it would be a 100% draw for me! I like the long season as well! Thanks, Chad

Sorry I never saw your first
Sorry I never saw your first post, think I was in Texas then. I've never hunted 47 but I know there is a pretty good population and enough public land to work with. I've hunted 63 above it and 46 below it always with decent results.
Make sure you get your blm maps or even better a chip for you gps to stay in line.
I've always stayed in Rawlins rather than camp up there but the hotes are getting really expensive being a gas town.
I applied 63,47,46 in that order and have points as well.
Good luck with your hunt and let us know how it goes or if you get some scouting in.

Good luck, Chad...and you too
Good luck, Chad...and you too Wade!
We hunted in 63 last year and saw some nice bucks. If you do draw Wade, shoot me a PM--I'll share some info about where I would go if I was headed back to 63 this year. We were disappointed when we tried to apply for the Wyoming draw this year. The units we prefer didn't have any doe/fawn tags available so we quickly revised our plans and decided to try a new area this year. Should be fun and we're looking forward to it. Hopefully my son can draw his either sex tag this year too!

I definately will get with
I definately will get with you if we draw. Hunted on public land around the Bar11 ranch last time I was there but didn't even see any as we drove through the area on the way to 30 last year. Drought definately hurt things up there. Only 25 doe tags for that season I think this year and in the past we bought our full limit as leftovers.

everyone gets their tags! I will let you know if I draw and if you all are near or hunting the same unit, I will throw some extra ribs on the spit for you!!!

We put in for 48, right next
We put in for 48, right next door. We should draw at least our doe/fawn tags. Never hunted that area before but been around and through it many times.
I'll PM you after the draw results and let you know our plans. We love ribs! Actually, we'll probably do some fishing too and have some fresh trout for the grill as well!

Nice, I'll bump this thread
I'll bump this thread back up when the draw results come out and see what everyone ended up with. I'm not even sure the opening dates for each unit as they all open different.
When my dad goes with in Wyoming our camping amounts to the Oak Tree Inn in Rawlins and eating at Penny's Diner,.lol His back can't handle too much anymore.
