WY Antelope pref points - im confused

Im trying to apply for a doe/fawn license (type 6) for my two youth sons in a unit that doesnt take any points for that license; easy enough.  One has a PP already and I dont want to use it for this hunt.  So, how can I apply for a licenses that shouldnt take any points to draw without sacrificing the point my son already has?  It appears that I have to apply for a "low odds" license as a first coice, pray that they dont draw, and then the one I want as a second choice.  Is that right?  Would be akin to putting in for unit 2 bull license in CO (hoping not to draw) so you could get an undersubscribed cow license as a 2nd choice in another unit.

Obviously im confused, because im from CO and understand our system...meaning my brain must not have any room left other states systems.

Sure appreciate the help.

You'll need to put your son

You'll need to put your son that has the PP's in for a hunt point unit hunt as a first choice and then the one that you want to hunt as a second choice.  You need to look at Wyoming's drawing odds and find a unit that he will not draw in.  So your thinking is on the right track.

I am not sure if Wyoming has different points for doe vrs buck antelope or not and can't find anyting on their page about it right now.  If they didn't then you could put in for a buck tag in a hard unit to draw and then the doe tag where you want to hunt.

I am also going to send you a PM

No points used for WY doe/fawn

Just incase anyone finds this post in the future.  No points are used when applying for a doe/fawn license, even as a first choice.  This is per my conversation with a WGFD employee and confirmed when my son drew his first choice doe antelope license and still has his point.
