had a discussion on another forum--300wby vs 300wsm. under no condition will the wsm match the 300 wby. another thing i learned is that with the heavier bullets in the 300wsm, you use up case powder space-thus defeating the purpose of the wsm.
The only advantage I see the WSMs and SAUMs having is the eliminate the long bolt draw that's present in most full-length magnum chamberings, so people with shorter arms, or those who dislike that long draw have guns that they can handle more easily.
