Very cool!  Really glad to

Very cool!  Really glad to see you were able to find someone to hunt with.  By all accounts, it looks like you had a great time!  A big congrats to you!!!

BTW, did the "raghorn" look beat up, like he may have lost all his cows in a fight?  Just doesn't seem like your typical raghorn... lol

There's always somebody bigger, eh

I would agree, not a typical rag horn at all.  He was a fine bull, but not nearly as tall or massive as the two herd bulls we encountered.  The herd bulls were absolutely THE BIGGEST elk I've ever seen, hunting or not.

The overall quality of the bulls in this area was just incredible.  Although we couldn't shoot a bull, we sure did have fun with them.

  Congrats on a great hunt

Congrats on a great hunt there!  It is always great when things click - with the animals and with the hunting partner.  I had the same luck as well this week.  Still looking to fill that cow tag of mine but the young bull will taste fine in the mean time.  This was only my 4th year of hunting elk but certainly with the rut going on it was the most memorable time so far in my hunting experience.  I'm looking forward to reading your full story and seeing the pics.  Great success of yours!

Congratulations and sounds

Congratulations and sounds like you had a great time. Very strange how late the rut is this year. Have heard a llot of stories about the bulls going crazy now. If I was a betting man I would have lost some money on that. Congrats on the 2 cows down and look forward to the whole story.
