Wounded Warrior

I was watching a hunting show featuring a hunt with a wounded Iraq veteran.  He suffered serious physical injuries including the loss of his legs and yet still has a positive attitude.  Makes me reflect on the cost of war....it is not the dollars, but the loss of life and injury to our young men and women and their families.  God bless all our veterans.

Amen to that!  I live out

Amen to that!  I live out here in a big military town.  I give every once in awhile to the Wounded Warriors Foundation, and there are lots of guys out here that organize trips, usually fishing where I am, for veterans and their kids to get out on the water.  What they give to us goes way beyond carrying a gun.

Absolutely

I also live in a big military place called Fort Drum one of the largest bases. My uncle fought in Iraq and had one of his legs amputated due to an explosive he encountered.   He doesn’t let this slow him down one bit. He hunts, fishes and enjoys the outdoors. He reminds me that those who serve risk there life so that we can do what we love without worrying about war. He is a brave individual along with many others who serve. I would like to say thank you to those who serve!!!!

I am glad that hunters are

I am glad that hunters are doing something for our military personnel.  They deserve to be treated like royalty, but unfortunately I don't think the government always treats them that way.

I have abuddy that runs a website for veterans of wars.  He gets alot of hunts donated or to be sponsored to take all these heros out and get them back in the field.  Without all these guys we would not be able to be in the woods as much as we are.  Thanks to all the veterans for making it possible for me to be free.

Yes... god bless our

Yes... god bless our servicemen and women. With out their sacrifices we would not be on this site discussing our passions let alone taking part in those passions. We get to do the things we love and live in peace with our families and friends because of what they do on a daily basis. God bless them. I love articles in magazines and shows on TV that take veterans out on hunts. You can see them reliving memories from their past when they are on those hunts and you can see that they are doing what they love and aren't thinking about the bad things that they have seen. THANKS TO ALL WHO HAVE SERVED!Applause
