According to what I read on another site, the 49 foot reticulated python that was supposed to be a new record is in fact only 21 feet in length. Darn! A 50 foot snake? That would have made whatever zoo it went to very popular.
I guess some things are universal in the animal kingdom. Here he is, going around bragging about being 49 feet long, and it turns out he's only 21. No doubt a lady snake was disappointed and went to the press.
Others have offered up a sighting of roughly 2 inches high at 100 yards as a good sighting scheme. In my own experience I have come to favor a sighting of 3.5 inches high at 100 yards. This allows for the individual to hold dead-on (directly in the middle of the top and bottom) the animal out to roughly 350 yards.
