I think I would've passed him up.The meat probably is going to be a little tough. "Yeah Right". My only question is whether or not that buck made a trip to Ohio in my favorite spot during the rut.I've seen quite a few does running through the woods that would have made him real happy. LOL.....
You know all those world record deer look as if they have been watering by a nuclear reactor plant, they have the big rack, lots of points, but are not conventional. Don't get me wrong I would be proud to take one, but do you understand what I mean about them not being conventional, there muntant deer.
Yeah your right, some of these non-typicals are freaky looking. I was recently looking at some trophies and came across one that was taken years ago called a "cactus buck". It was a non-typical whitetail that had tens (if not hundreds) of small points (less than half on inch) on the lower base of the antlers. Truely strange, but it was taken years ago, so I don't think that the mutants are of recent vintage.
One of the most important pieces of equipment that you will take hunting is a good quality pair of optics and they take some care to give you the performance that you want. So here are a few tips.
Use some alcohol and cheese cloth to clean the lenses. I will usually pick up an extra cleaning kit from my optician when I have my eyes examined.
Don't touch the lens with your fingers. If there is a stick or a bug on them blow it off.
Use the lens covers. They are there...
