Well thanks Ferg! Maybe someday we will have all the answers and will always do the right thing, I doubt it, but...
Have a look at this article and try and decide if this is how you want your state congresspersons acting. http://www.wolfcenter.org/wine_sucking_lawyers.htm
It really SCARES me when I see people saying things like this and are so shortsighted they can't seem to get past their old thoughts and biases. Not that I'm perfect, I do it too. But I try my best to get as much info as I can before making a decision. It is hard to cut through all the skewed info that people put out there and find something that is true and worth looking at. We as a society cannot make decisions based on bad information. I feel that is exactly what people do when they say things like wolves have no place in the modern world. If we as the greatest species on the planet can't figure out a way to live with wolves then how great are we? Like I said before, that doesn't mean we need to have wolves in the suburbs, but with proper management we should be able to have them in the "backcountry"(definition up for debate!).

mmmm I don’t think anyone has stated that there is no place for wolves and if you thought I did then imp sorry that’s not my intent ,
However what I am saying is there is no place for the larger numbers that many in the reintroduction crowd are asking for the just simple is not enough habitat .

wolves

The best place for wolves are in a zoo. We don't need them in Colorado. There is no habitate left for these serial killers.

Well they're here! They've been spotted in northwest Colorado already.

So whats the plan in Colorado for exterminating the other "serial killers"? You know, the cougars and the bears.

I read the article. All I can say is that kinda offsets the animal rights extremists. It takes all kinda to make up this ol world. You have the folks that won't mash a spider then there's the ones that will shoot the hens off their nest and stomp the eggs. I'm just glad I'm not one of the extremist on this one. Maybe there will be a middle ground somewhere that the majority of the folks that are effected can tolerate.
We have the same "type" of people here in Missouri and I imagine in every state. Generally I stress "generally" they offset each other and a good common practice is accomplished.

This article is the perfect example of what I am saying
The public have been miss informed and by who?
People like this bob fanning that’s who.
He wants to make these folks believe that they have a say in Nez Pierce policies when it comes to the government, when in fact they don’t at state level. Only at federal level, nation to nation can they stop anything. Any talks with kempthorn on any subject doesn’t have to happen it’s only a common cortices.
Case in point whom do you think the feds went to when the state voted no on reintroduction? You know why?
Now as to the wolves themselves
Lets tell the whole story Mr. Fanning. The wolves have been members of this country way before any of our relatives were here, granted not this species.
However timber wolves have been recorded on the camas prairie around kooskie, kamahie are for ever, who is this man to come and be so arrogant
.
You know its laughable 100 people just 100 I wonder where all the rest of those folks were, maybe they are to smart to fall for his BS

rather be,
cougers and bears in Colorado have hunting seasons on them, which keeps them in check and do not fall in the "serial killer" catagory. Apparently you have not been around wolf packs in the wilds.
Wolves actually don't have a feeding territory, when they run out of food they will move to a new location, maybe 30-50 miles.
There was 18,000 head of elk in yellowstone park before the introduction of the wolf, now there is 12,000. This is confirmed from the park service. Maybe this is good, maybe it isn't. For the elk hunter, it isn't.
They can experiment with them up there.

So ST, maybe in a couple of years you will be able to shoot a wolf as well as many of the other critters out there, won't that be fun?!

By the way, I would be interested in killing a wolf around here, just so this statement doesn't get taken the wrong way.

I thought that was because of snowmobiles not wolves :-?
I heard somewhere that the testing on carcasses found has hi levels of emissions. So now we have wolves but no one can see them as you cant get in to jollystone
