I have not used the slugs but all the other PDX loads I have tried were excellent. They are designed for controlled exspansion and should work great for hogs.

You should get out and try a few though to see how they shoot in your gun.

We took 3 boars down bt Okeechobee last year with our regular hunting rifles and an old .32 Special with good results.

Okay I shot my mouth again without knowing completely what I was talking about. I assumed when you said you could not get buckshot that it was a plain slug load. I looked it up and was a little surprised.

The 3 pellets would not be the best by themselves but it still throws a one ounce slug with them so it should be a great load as long as the slug shoots to point of aim.

Like I said you should get out and try a few first. You should never use a load that your not sure exactley where it's gonna hit.

Thanks for the input man. I'm planning on shooting a few out of my mossberg  turkey gun later on today. I've been using buckshot but I wanted something with a little more ass behind it. It's small game season so the bigest rifle you can use is a .22...

How long have you been in glenwood springs? I lived in the Roaring fork valley for most of my life and my parents live in woody creek near aspen. My little bro lives in Silt also. We've done alot of big game and waterfowl hunting in the area. Love me some fly fishing too, Kind of makes me miss home, all except that cold ass weather ya'll are getting up there now.

Lived here since 85 so I probably know someone you do. Worked in Aspen awhile but never go up there unless I have to. I do all my big game hunting around Basalt but got to try some duck hunting on the river by Silt this year.

My best friend has lived in Silt his whole life.

Don't know how long it's been since you've been here but the place has really filled up.

I moved down here about a year ago last winter. There's a great spot to waterfowl hunt right there on the highway just past the silt exit heading too new castle. I don't know when I'll get a chance to come back up that way.

We mostly hunted unit 33 up coulter mesa for elk and deer.

If your talking on the New Castle side of the exit that's exactly where I was sitting last month. 15 below zero that morning and nothing flying.

We had 18 below this morning in New Castle. Not the norm lately but it hits about every 3 or 4 weeks.
