Winchester M70 Sporter Deluxe (Grade II) Stock

Winchester M70 Sporter Deluxe stock. It's a grade II, but most of the figure is around the receiver area instead of the butt area, though still better than standard. Long action, magnum and standard barrel channel (built for a standard, but fits my magnum barrel as the new Winchesters use the same contour). I also have an adapter if if you have an -02 and prior Model 70 with the two piece bottom metal. Never used, no scratches, no bedding compound, comes with Pachmayer Decelerator pad and sling blued sling swivels.

$170, add $10 if you need it shipped.

compare to $500 for a Super Grade stock or $400 for a standard grade stock from Numrich

That's a beautiful piece of wood and one of the quickest sales I've seen made. It's kind of been covered in another thread but although I enjoy the look and feel of wood it would break my heart to hunt with something like that and end up scratching it.

got an even nicer one if you're interested...

I'm thinking about putting it on a .30-06 next week, but if you're interested, I've got a nicer stock for for $220   Dancing

I take more pleasure out of hunting with nice guns and unique stuff, which is why I put stocks like these on my guns.  Scratches are easy to repair, and there's no good reason to let a nice gun sit in a safe.  I promise you I'll be hunting with my nice stuff this year.

I don't have a model 70 in my collection or I would be really tempted as I have paid more than that for some ugly black ones in the past. I did not think you could get such a nice piece of walnut for that good of a price.

I really enjoy hunting with unique or nostalgic guns as well but really don't have anything that would be mistaken for good looking right now.

generally you can't

It takes a lot of window shopping and some discipline, but every once in a while, sweet deals on finished stocks will pop up.

I spent twice that on the wood alone, with no finish work on my maple .264.

Started as this:

Ended up as this:

and yes, I use her, even in rocky stuff:

Killed some stuff with her too:

Anyway, I'll probably put that stock on a .30-06 Win M70 Sporter (NIB) next week and will only be looking for about $750.

Gonna sell that second stock

$200 shipped for that second Winchester M70 stock, unless I've got a taker for same stock on a Winchester M70 .30-06 for $750.
