Winchester .405 1895 Levergun

Big smile Greetings folks, I am looking for owners of this fine weapon who can give me their evaluation of their gun, relaoding, etc., I recently purchased the Winchester 1895 (re-edition) and would like to get impressions from other owners, thanks and I look forward to your comments:) zeN 8)

A couple of months ago. I talked myself out of buying one of those very nice rigs. Let me know how it works for you.
Darn, I knew I should have done it. I had the money on the counter.
It should be a very good round for anything out to 150 or so yds.
What I had in mind was elk and bear in close cover. We have a whole bunch around here and some very large critters.
I had some loading data but, I can't seem to locate it. I'll get back on topic if I can find it.
Darn!!!

Well I took my gun to the range for the first time (the .405 WM), started out at 50 yds, getting ready to feel the beast take a chunk out of my shoulder-WHAM! Actually wasn't so bad after all, all the stories I read about the wicked recoil were obviously 'city boys' used to shooting bb guns:)
This thing turns out to be a pretty good shooter, in spite of the fact that I was flinching a bit, was pretty much on the bullseye on my last round (ok, it was a big orange sticker on the bullseye, ok????) with a little adjustment on the rear site-all in all a truly superb big bore bastod:) I have named my gun (engraved on the stock) "Teddy Boy" after one of my favorite presidents and cowboys:) later zeN

Interesting, could you guys tell me who is making the new Winchester 1895's? Was this a limited run by USR or someone else hired by Winchester? Just curious, since I wasn't aware of any new Winchester 1895's.

Also do you know of any manufacturer other than Norinco making remakes of the Winchester 1887L (lever action shot gun)?

Thanks!
